Air Force Memorial Celebrates 10th Anniversary

Friday, October 14th marked 10 years to the day since the Air Force Memorial was dedicated to the American people by President George W. Bush. A couple hundred people gathered beneath the spires to celebrate the occasion. Since its dedication 2 million people have visited the memorial to view the magnificent site.  The 10th Anniversary celebration included remarks from Secretary Deborah Lee James, General David Goldfein, and Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force James Cody and in their remarks they highlighted the past, present, and future of the memorial. Secretary James was named an honorary Tuskegee Airman, a heritage flight soared above the spires, and The Air Force Band along with Melinda Doolittle performed for the special event.
